follow up to the stupid aussie internet filter thingy

have scoured the net for any positive non-aus-government comments on this ridiculous proposal and found only ridicule and derision. one may think that this alone should change minds in canberra but then again, few in the government use the internet and then only for email. getup (the social justice/political action group) have an online petition to try and stop the government going ahead - please sign it. it would also be beneficial to write (yes, snail mail) to your local MP expressing your opinion.

there is also the stopcleanfeed campaign run by the australian electronic frontier foundation. their site has information and suggestions for action. we all know this so called clean feed nonsense will fail but what if we can't stop it's implementation it could take years for the failure to be admitted by government and by then the cost to us in both dollars and civil liberty may be incredibly high. this could be a huge bloody mess.
